The Lord's Prayer

Jesus instructs his disciples how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13 with a simple prayer. He encourages his disciples that "your Father knows what you need before you ask him." Jesus' reference to God as Father suggests an intimate relationship with God – the creator of all things in the universe and on earth - the Creator of our existence. There are times that it is difficult to know how to pray. May this prayer be an encouragement to you as you seek a relationship with God through prayer.

Our Father Who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy Will be done On Earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from Evil:
For Thine is the Kingdom,
and the Power,
And the Glory, for ever. Amen
